Though we still have a far way to go, especially here in the heartland of the usa - where we are still competing against the 'bigger is better' attitude and non-existent public transport & recycling programs..... agh.

On a more upbeat note: I thought I'd share Maasukos: a band from Mozambique. They make use of Niassan rhythms to bring public awareness of environmental & health issues facing their communities and much of the rest of Africa.
Feliciano dos Santos - who spearheads the group - won this year's Goldman Environmental Prize for his efforts & inspiration for action - particularly through bringing awareness of the significant problem of sanitation/water-borne illnesses.
